Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØStudy Buddies
Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØStudy Buddies makes it possible for undergraduate students to sign up for small, self-organizing study groups that meet in-person (on-campus) and/or virtually. Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØÌýresearch shows that helping students find classmates to study with can help them increase their sense of belonging and be more successful in their courses. Studying with classmates is also a great way to meet new people, develop good learning habits, and better understand course content. Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØStudy Buddies also introduces students to helpful study resources and campus study locations.Ìý
Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØStudy Buddies is a pilot program out of the College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Office of Information Technology, which focuses on high-impact courses that correlate with retention and persistence at Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder.Ìý
Who can participate?
Fall 2023 Study Buddies courses will be posted in late August.
Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØStudy Buddies provides:
- A chance to join the pilot for participating course sections
- Assistance getting matched with two study buddiesÌý
- An opportunity to connect with classmates and make learning more enjoyable
- Study resources and guidance for successfully studying with others
How does it work?
- Eligible students are given a sign-up link in their course and sent an email to opt in.
- Once matched with two of their classmates, students receive an email within one week from custudybuddy@colorado.edu with their study buddies’ names and email addresses.
- Students make contact with their study buddies and self-organize where and when to meet and how best to support each other.
