Screendance has the opportunity to navigate inner and outer worlds, place serving as a stand-in for emotional states. A collaborator within dance cinema since 1991, Erika will examine her body of work and the work of other dance film makers who traverse interior landscapes through the vehicle of locale.
Randall is a teacher, choreographer and filmmaker who has an MFA in Choreography from Ohio State University, a BA in Dance from the University of Washington.听 She has worked with Teena Marie Custer, Sara Hook, David Parker and the Bang Group, Michelle Ellsworth, Gabriel Masson, Megan Odom, Anna Sapozhnikov, Rebecca-Nettl-Fiol, Esteban Donoso, the Mark Morris Dance Group and Buglisi/Foreman Dance.听 Her dancefilms, 鈥淒own for the Count,鈥澨 鈥渕ore,"鈥渟elf defense,鈥 and 鈥渓ess,鈥 created with film collaborators, Daniel Beahm and Markas Henry, have screened at festivals such the Sans Souci Dance Cinema Festival, the Starz Denver Film Festival, the Florence GLBT Film Festival in Italy, and the Fa莽ade Film Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. www.teahmbeahm.com.
Randall co-wrote, directed, produced and choreographed the feature dance film, Leading Ladies, which premiered at the Sonoma International Film Festival in 2010, and has played to sold-out audiences at over 65 festivals world-wide, including: New York鈥檚 NewFest, Los Angeles鈥 Outfest, San Francisco鈥檚 Frameline, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the Starz Denver Film Festival, the Cannes Independent Film Festival, and won 鈥淏est Feature鈥 at the Palm Beach Women鈥檚 Film Festival.
