David E. Meens is Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public and Community-Engaged Scholarship at the Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ. A fourth-generation Coloradan from the state’s Western Slope, he has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between academic research and community impact. In his leadership role, he oversees campus-wide initiatives that connect university expertise with public needs across Colorado and beyond. Meens holds a PhD and two MA degrees from the University of Colorado system. His scholarly work focuses on political and educational theory, and issues related to higher education and democracy. A frequent contributor to national dialogues on the civic mission of higher education, he currently leads strategic efforts to elevate the public value of scholarship through innovative community partnerships.
