Change Requests
To better manage change requests for staff throughout the college, CEAS HR asks supervisors and/or human resources liaisons (HRLs) to formally request changes through their unit's assigned .
Change Requests should be initiated by a supervisor or HRL on behalf of a staff employee within the College of Engineering & Applied Science. All changes discussed and approved during the annual Operational Planning process should take precedence including but not limited to: promotions, compensation adjustments, supervisor or team transfers, level adjustments, title changes, and job description changes. Any additional requests outside of the annual Operational Planning process will require the dean’s approval on a case-by-case basis. Changes can be requested as exceptions for the following scenarios:
- Request for an out-of-cycle staff promotion due to unplanned organizational changes or team restructuring
- Requests to adjust salary for an immediate equity need without a corresponding level change.
- Request for a new staff position (i.e. new headcount) whose need was not foreseen at the time of Operational Planning
- Requesting to backfill a vacant staff position previously agreed to not be backfilled during the prior Operational Planning cycle, because of imminent needs
- Request to move staff member(s) to a new supervisor.
- Request for a job description review/change due to circumstances not foreseen in the last Operational Planning cycle
- Request for a title review/change due to circumstances not foreseen in the last Operational Planning cycle
- Request for Temporary Additional Pay for an employee covering additional responsibilities.
