This year’s One Read title is Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge & the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Join college faculty and staff as we gather to discuss a section of the book, participate in activities and build community over the lunch hour. The club will meet on the first Thursday of the month from noon-1 p.m. starting Oct. 6 and culminating with the Global Climate Summit on Dec. 1-4, where Kimmerer will be a featured speaker. In-person and remote options will be available for the book club.

Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØEngineering will host Sandia Day 2022 – with research presentations, poster session and networking event – to celebrate the growing partnership with Sandia National Laboratory. The event will start with rapid presentations from Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder researchers from about 2:30-4 p.m. and then transition to a poster session, networking and refreshments.

The event is open to all Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder students, faculty and staff and will include engineering-based research as well as projects from the College of Arts and Sciences and several institutes. Registration for presentations and poster session event is not required, and guests are encouraged to drop in and out as needed during this busy time in the semester.

The new edition focuses on information needed for the start of the new academic year and on essential curriculum planning for future semesters. It includes fall 2022 teaching and advising information; COVID-19 updates; course planning reminders; curricular planning and teaching assignments for spring 2023 and beyond; and updates from the Center for Teaching and Learning and Libraries.

Gemmill Engineering, Math and Physics Library staff have created a  for first-year engineers to assist with the transition to a college environment, support academic success and Open Access initiatives, and connect students with the library and its many resources. Please consider sharing this guide with your students in a welcome email prior to the first day of class, link it in your class syllabus, or invite an engineering librarian to present to your class.
