Construction activities will have partial traffic impacts beginning on Folsom Street near Colorado Avenue related to the university's chilled water line project. These will take effect during commencement and related activities May 1–3. Facilities Management is coordinating closely with event organizers to minimize impact.

Traffic will be reduced to a single shared lane on Folsom Street with turn lanes temporarily combined. Equipment staging may be present but clear signage and traffic control will help guide attendees and participants. Any temporary changes to parking or access will be communicated well in advance.

April 20, 2026: Partial traffic impacts begin on Folsom Street near Colorado Avenue and will continue through July 15, 2026. Traffic will be reduced to a single shared lane in the work zone, with turn lanes temporarily combined. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

�鶹��Ѱ��Boulder is constructing a new academic facility aimed at advancing research and educational opportunities in chemistry and applied mathematics on the southeast side of the Business School Field along Regent Drive on Main Campus. The facility will host modern research laboratories for chemistry, applied mathematics and specialized quantum research, supporting research missions in analytical spectroscopy, environmental chemistry and computational mathematics.

Upcoming construction at the University Memorial Center will improve the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system; the Campus Dining & Hospitality loading dock; and pavement between it and the neighboring Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE).

Dining options will be limited in spring 2026 while the UMC undergoes several construction projects. Alferd Packer Grill, Panda Express, Starbucks and several other spaces will be closed during construction. Learn more about closures and alternative places to get food.

Construction of the Colorado Highway 119 Safety, Mobility and Bikeway Improvements Project has started and will be ongoing through 2027. Once complete, the corridor will have improved bike and bus facilities, and safer and more efficient intersections for all users. In the short term, The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) , the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Boulder County will be working together to mitigate traffic congestion, delays and crashes and expand transportation options throughout this project. Your usual travel route may be impacted by construction, traffic delays and increased congestion throughout the project.

Immediate impacts:

Niwot Park-n-ride lot will close temporarily, but bus stops will remain active.
Bus stops at north and southbound CO 119 and bus stops at CO 52 (near IBM) will close beginning Sept. 29.
Additionally, there will be lane closures at various times near the following intersections: Jay Road, CO 52, 71st Street, Niwot Road, Oxford Road, 83rd Street, and Airport and Connector roads

Code Talker Hall will be the first new, modern housing building to open in the area, North Boulder Creek (NBC). It will house 332 upper division students in on-campus apartment-style housing. It will provide neighborhood amenities such as a café, UPS store, and a variety of study space that will serve the students within the surrounding NBC community. Construction is underway as of April 2024 and will continue until summer of 2026. More information on Code Talker Hall can be found here.
