Professor Gang Cao Research Group

We explore the discovery, synthesis, and control of quantum materials with a focus on highly correlated systems with strong spin-orbit interactions, Ìýsuch as 4d and 5d transition metal materials. Our work has helped shape key directions in modern condensed matter physics and uncover new routes toward emergent quantum technologies.

Using advanced synthesis and extreme-condition experiments, from ultralow temperatures to high magnetic fields, we reveal and tune novel quantum states. Collaborating with leading scientists worldwide, we strive to advance the science and technology of next-generation quantum materials.Ìý
