Adult Piano Program (not for credit)
This program offers paid lessons every semester, taught by experienced graduate instructors, at a rate similar to other places in Boulder.
- Lessons are for adults at any level: beginner, intermediate or advanced. Lessons are in person in Imig Music (no at-home lessons).
- The lesson content is tailored to the student鈥檚 interest. Instructors generally work with an adult method book for beginners and with classical or other repertoire with intermediate and advanced students. The focus is on developing reading, expressiveness, control, coordination and technique at the instrument.
- Adult lessons are either 45-minute or 1-hour long, once a week.
- Semester tuition includes 14 lessons per semester.
- All lessons take place on campus in the Imig Music Building (at-home lessons cannot be provided). Adult lessons are scheduled mostly before 3:30 p.m. or after 7:30 p.m. or on weekends.
- Students generally must have access to a piano to practice. There two open practice rooms in Imig Music Building.
- The semester coincides with CU鈥檚 academic semester.
- Optional end-of-semester recital with all adult students.
The tuition for the semester is comparable to other community music schools in Boulder.
