Ayon Saha is a dedicated and aspiring Earth Science Enthusiastic, currently immersed in the pursuit of knowledge and scientific exploration. He is currently a graduate student in Geological Sciences at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ, while also contributing to the department as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA).
Ayon’s research focuses on coupled groundwater hydrology, particularly modeling groundwater flow and heat transport in frozen grounds. He aims to improve understanding of subsurface processes in cold regions under changing climatic conditions.
Previously, Ayon completed his second M.Sc. in Geology at University of North Dakota and studied climate-driven lake-level fluctuations in the Prairie Pothole Region, using the Cold Region Hydrological Modeling (CRHM) framework to analyze regional-scale changes in water levels and contributing areas.Ìý
Prior to his journey at UND & Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder, Ayon Saha earned his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Geology & Mining from the . During his academic tenure in Bangladesh, He boasts an impressive track record of more than four years as a Research Assistant, actively contributing to numerous national and international research projects. These projects were generously funded by prestigious institutions, including the University Grants Commission (UGC) in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBEIS), and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Canada.
Looking towards the future, he envisions a role in the field of earth science, he believes to be incredibly rewarding. His commitment to the pursuit of scientific understanding and its practical applications promises to make a lasting impact in the field of geology and beyond.Ìý
