You have not met the required 2.000 cumulative Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØGPA minimum, therefore, <strong>you have been placed on academic suspension and </strong><a href="https://buffportal.colorado.edu/card/holds-and-to-dos" rel="nofollow"><strong>a registration hold has been placed on your record</strong></a>.</p><p>Academic suspension is serious and we support your effort to improve your academic standing. Please review the options for reinstatement along with actionable next steps you can take below. For more information, view Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder’s <a href="/registrar/students/your-information-records/academic-standing" rel="nofollow">academic standing requirements</a>.</p><p><strong>What Happens on Academic Suspension?</strong></p><p><span>As a result of academic suspension, your current Spring 2025 courses will be dropped with the exception of enrollment in Evening Credit, Online Credit, and Applied Music classes offered through the Division of Continuing Education. Note that if you remain enrolled in Continuing Education courses you will need to maintain a 2.300 semester GPA or above for each enrolled semester in Continuing Education. You will not be eligible to enroll in Main Campus courses during the fall or spring semesters until you have completed the requirements for reinstatement after academic suspension through the options explained below, which includes earning the required 2.000 cumulative Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØGPA minimum or returning through conditional enrollment.</span></p><p><span>As a reminder, a registration hold related to your academic suspension status has been placed on your record and your official transcript will show that you are on academic suspension.</span></p><p>In addition, federal regulations require students to make satisfactory academic progress in a program of study to be eligible for financial aid. Students who enroll in summer classes following an academic dismissal are reviewed according to the following standards at the close of summer classes:</span></p><ul><li><span>A student who raises their cumulative Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØGPA to at least a 2.000 will return to good academic standing;</span></li><li><span>A student who earns at least a 2.500 summer term GPA, but who still has a cumulative Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØGPA below 2.000, may be considered for an academic performance plan (APP) for a subsequent fall or spring semester;</span></li><li><span>A student who earns a summer term GPA below 2.500 and whose Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØcumulative GPA remains below 2.000 may not enroll again until the following summer term.</span></li></ul><p><span><strong>Note:</strong> While students may take summer courses at any University of Colorado campus, Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder does not guarantee admission to the other Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØcampuses. Changes in the new to grade-change workflow experience include:</p><ul><li>Enhanced tracking where requests are in progress</li><li>More robust communications</li><li>Shorter processing window once grade-change requests are approved (from 4 hours to 2 hours)</li><li>Ability to submit a grade-change request for discontinued students who are otherwise eligible (previously required a paper COR)</li><li>Prevention of submission for students who have graduated</li><li>Updated documentation is forthcoming!</li></ul><p>Grade-change requests that were submitted prior to the new process going live should still be managed in the former process (primarily in portal). We wanted to let you know that registered members of <a href="/registrar/students/state-residency/exceptions#members_of_american_indian_tribes_with_historical_ties_to_colorado-903" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado</a> may qualify for in-state tuition rates based on a new <a href="/registrar/node/2195" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">residency exception</a>.</p><h2 dir="ltr">About the Colorado American Indian Tribes Residency Exception</h2><p dir="ltr">Under the <a href="https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb21-029" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Colorado American Indian Tribes In-State Tuition Act</a>, signed into law on June 28, 2021, a student who would not otherwise qualify for in-state tuition and who is a registered member of one of the federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado is eligible to be classified as an in-state student for tuition purposes.</p><h2 dir="ltr">How to Apply</h2><p dir="ltr">If you're a registered member of one of the <a href="/registrar/students/state-residency/exceptions#members_of_american_indian_tribes_with_historical_ties_to_colorado-903" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado</a>, submit the <a href="https://portal.prod.cu.edu/psc/epprod/UCB3/ENTP/s/WEBLIB_CU_EFORM.ISCRIPT1.FieldFormula.IScript_Populate_eForm?form=UCB_American_Indian_Residency_Exception_Form" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Colorado American Indian tribal membership verification form</a> and all required supporting documents by the first day of classes. The verification form can only be accessed once you have been admitted to the university.</p><p dir="ltr">Please allow ten business days for us to review your submission. Please carefully review the list of military exceptions below.</p><ul><li><strong><a href="/registrar/node/862" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Colorado National Guard</a></strong>: You may be eligible if you or your spouse will be a member of the Colorado National Guard and be stationed in Colorado by the first day of class.</li><li><strong><a href="/registrar/node/854" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">U.S. military active duty member</a></strong>: You may be eligible if you, your spouse or your parent will be on active duty with a permanent change of station (PCS) in Colorado on the first day of class.
