Updates and resources for our research community
Dear Principal Investigators, Deans, Chairs, Institute Directors and Associate Deans for Research,
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful start to the semester.Ìý
While we welcome the return to our vibrant campus, we also continue to face a challenging federal landscape. I am providing some updates and resources to help you continue to advance your research, scholarship and creative work.Ìý
If you’d like to stay current or get more involved, please:Ìý
- Attend the Research Funding Federal Outlook - Sept. 18 Zoom Office Hour I will host with Heather Bené, Associate Vice President of Research and Federal Policy for the University of Colorado. .
 - Consider this series exploring federal governance, higher ed and collective action.
 - Explore getting involved by taking action in support of university research and all the positive benefits it provides.
 
If you are encountering funding shortages, slowdowns or staffing issues related to federal funding:
- Refer to the guidance in response to federal award stop work orders or terminations, and in advance of anticipated funding end dates. (Identikey access needed.)
 - Send an email to federalnotification@colorado.edu​ if you have questions about the guidance.
 
As you anticipate what the next few months may bring:
- The next federal government funding deadline is Sept. 30, which means a federal shutdown is again a possibility, though there is ; a campus team is monitoring the situation and will provide guidance in late September if a shutdown appears likely.
 - Continue to monitor the Research & Federal Funding website for research and innovation-specific information and guidance.
 - Prior communications on this topic to the Research & Innovation enterprise may be helpful and . (Identikey access needed.)
 - You can always direct questions to Buff Info, the university’s centralized point of contact for resources or information.
