CU-Boulder to hold winter commencement Dec. 20
The 麻豆免费版下载 will hold its winter commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 20, in the Coors Events Center on campus.
The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public.
Due to traffic delays, and ongoing construction on U.S. 36 leading into Boulder, early arrival is strongly advised.
The ceremony will honor candidates for 1,899 degrees, including 1,399 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 310 master鈥檚 degrees, nine law degrees and 181 doctoral degrees.
Distinguished Professor Kristi Anseth of CU-Boulder鈥檚 chemical and biological engineering department will give the commencement address.
Anseth, the winner of this year鈥檚 Hazel Barnes Prize 鈥 the highest recognition for teaching and research awarded by the university 鈥 is known internationally for her innovative biomaterials and regenerative medicine research. She leads a team of faculty and students who are developing biodegradable 鈥渟caffolds鈥 to stimulate the growth of new human tissues to replace those lost by injury or disease.
Also during the ceremony, Dr. David C. Fajgenbaum will receive the Distinguished Service Award for his exceptional contributions to the nation. Fajgenbaum鈥檚 research and advocacy efforts have brought national attention to the issue of college students dealing with grief. He also is a tireless advocate for brain cancer research, rare disease research and college students鈥 bereavement.
Parking lots and gray meters near the Coors Events Center are free for commencement parking. Traffic officers and parking attendants will be available to assist campus visitors.
