Ho-a named AVC of finance and business strategy

After a national search, Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox has named Carla Ho-a associate vice chancellor for , effective Thursday, June 1. Most recently, Ho-a served as assistant vice chancellor for budget and fiscal planning, one of four primary functions that comprises FBS.
Ho-a will be taking over for Louise Vale, who has led FBS in an interim role since SeptemberÌý2015.
"I am delighted that Carla is taking on this new leadership role," Fox said. "She has over 20 years’ budget and finance experience at the University of Colorado and tremendous expertise and passion for Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder, its work and its students."
Ho-a’s past leadership roles include associate dean for finance and administration at the Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØCollege of Nursing and director of special projects and assistant vice chancellor for administration auxiliaries at Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder.

Ho-a joined FBS in July 2015 in a newly created role as assistant vice chancellor for budget and fiscal planning. Under her direction, the budget and fiscal planning office has evolved its role as a strategic planning partner for campus units, transforming the campus-wide budget planning process and enabling participating units to identify and allocate resources more effectively.
FBS is made up of Auxiliary Services, Budget & Fiscal Planning, Campus Controller and Data Analytics. FBS works to ensure the Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ has a strategic, systematic and comprehensive approach to all areas of business and financial management. FBS provides useful information and analysis to assist academic and administrative units on campus with informed and effective decision making, financial planning, research and reporting, process examination and administrative business services.
