Dear colleagues,

Though it seems impossible to imagine, the end of the semester is approaching and commencement in our sights. I hope you all enjoyed at least a little time off last week during spring break.

For me, this has been a busy and exciting time of getting to know all of you, the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder campus and our extended community. I’ve been meeting with faculty and staff, a good many unit advisory boards, and countless individual faculty and staff in my Conversations with the Provost this semester.

Beginning in this edition of Provost’s Post and continuing in the April and June editions, I’ll be building on those conversations and using our Perspectives section to share the values that guide my leadership of our academic mission. I’m beginning the conversation with a focus on academic freedom.

In this edition of Provost’s Post, you’ll find updates on implementing the Common Curriculum, launching our campuswide visioning process for the future of online education, using a Canvas template to promote student success, how AI and teaching are working together, and how our campuswide values project is advancing.

Let’s all have a great close to a transformative and exciting semester and a challenging and rewarding academic year. We're aiming to have a stronger than ever faculty presence at this year's commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 2. Please join in this year-end celebration with our students. My thanks for all you do for our students and for Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder.

Ann Stevens
Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
