Buff Experience Transformation Update – June 2, 2026

Sprint 3 Complete: Build Momentum ContinuesÌý

The Buff Experience Transformation project reached another milestone yesterday with the completion of Sprint 3. On June 1, the project team held a Sprint 3 demonstration session for subject matter experts and stakeholders, showcasing continued progress on Education Cloud configuration and functionality. These three-week sprint cycles allow campus experts to review, test, and provide feedback on system development as it occurs, ensuring the platform reflects the operational realities of those who will use it. The next sprint is now underway, and additional demonstration sessions will be scheduled in the coming weeks.Ìý

Data Approval Milestone AchievedÌý

The project reached a major milestone in data readiness last week, with all required data approvals successfully completed and submitted to the University Information Services (UIS) team by May 31. These approvals represent cross-campus alignment on key data sources, definitions, and governance needed to support the new Education Cloud environment. This milestone positions the project to move forward with data migration planning and implementation, while helping ensure that the system is built on a strong, reliable data foundation. The team will continue working closely with campus partners to refine data standards, validate integrations, and support upcoming build and testing activities.Ìý

Active Build Across All WorkstreamsÌý

Since late May, build activities have continued to advance across all four parallel workstreams. Cloud for Good is progressing on core Education Cloud configuration for Continuing Education and undergraduate advising, translating refined user stories into working system functionality. The Office of Information Technology's Learner Engagement Technology team continues work on transitioning essential services from the legacy Buff Portal Advising system while maintaining current system stability to ensure uninterrupted support for students and staff. Marcus Thomas (formerly Devs United) is advancing the Marketing Cloud transition to the new instance. All teams are refining requirements and conducting sprint testing sessions with subject matter experts to validate functionality before deployment.

Share Your Feedback: New OpportunityÌý

We are launching a new opportunity for members of the campus community—including students, staff, and faculty—to participate in feedback activities related to the Buff Experience Transformation. Your input will help shape the system and ensure it meets the needs of those who will use it. If you are interested in being contacted for future feedback opportunities, please complete the form below. Students who participate in feedback activities may be eligible to receive an Amazon gift card.Ìý

Decisions and TimelineÌý

The project team continues to finalize detailed MVP feature prioritization, data migration scope and timelines, and the Marketing Cloud subscription data model. Final approvals are progressing on remaining discovery deliverables, including the Security Framework and Data Cloud Design Plan. Configuration and development work remains on track to continue through October 2026, followed by end-user testing and training. We remain committed to transparency about what will be available at launch and what will be delivered in subsequent phases.Ìý

Stay ConnectedÌý

Weekly Q&A sessions continue on Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. and are open to all campus stakeholders. Please note that this week’s Q&A session has been cancelled, but we will resume the Q&A sessions on June 10. These sessions provide ongoing opportunities to ask questions, share feedback, and stay informed as the system takes shape. Working groups continue to meet regularly and can schedule additional sessions on specific topics as needed.
