Extension of J-1 Program of Study
The program dates listed on your Form DS-2019 reflect the allotted length of your J-1 program. If you will not complete your degree requirements by the end date indicated on your DS-2019, you must request an extension of your J-1 program. Failure to request an extension in a timely manner may result in the loss of your J-1 status and could lead to serious immigration consequences.
To request an extension, you must complete the (DocuSign) at least two weeks prior to your current J-1 program end date.
You will be required to provide acceptable proof of funding and documentation of comprehensive health insurance coverage for the requested extension period.
